Laurence Edmonston v. Ursula Bruce or Edmonston and her husband.
Summons, 8 Mar 1860, claiming that a disposition and settlement in 1819 by the late Thomas Edmonston of Buness in favour of pursuer, subject to certain burdens, is the only valid settlement of the said deceased Thomas, whereby said Thomas promised and engaged that in the event of pursuer going to reside and settle in Unst as a medical practitioner, and as the medical attendant of the deceased, he would make him generally his heir and executor. Seeks to reduce deed of settlement, 16 Sep 1847, by said Thomas, and corroborative deed of settlement, 13 July 1850.
Condescendance gives much interesting information on family. Letters quoted.
